Mike’s December Gardening Newsletter

Here we are finishing up another year, but before we can ring in the new year there are plenty of things to do. Thousands of leaves are falling daily.

  • Rake the leaves up into a compost bend and get them ready for spring.
  • Spread molasses over the lawn to help build up the microbial activity and add organic material to the soil.
  • Plant fescue grass seed and winter ryegrass seeds for a green winter lawn.

After the yard work is done check out the December 2011 archives on how to take care of Holiday plants.

Coming up in the first of January: onion plants, fresh bulk seeds and seed potatoes. Stay tuned!

Have a Great Christmas and New Year

MIKE
