Transitioning Plants Back Indoors

October is the time to start preparing tropical plants for the move back inside. Begin the transition by moving tropical plants into shade or lower lighted areas of the yard. This will help prepare plants for lower light conditions inside the home. Slowing introducing the plants to lower light should help with leaf drop when moved inside. Dust the top of the potted plant soil with Sevin dust or any good insect dust. This will prevent insects from moving into your home when the pots are relocated.

The time to prepare for winter is now. The average first frost date for DFW area is November 22nd.
