It’s been exciting times here at Russell Feed & Supply! The growth we’ve seen in 2022 has been beyond our wildest dreams. On October 1st of this past year, we celebrated our 25th anniversary in business. I am amazed by this. The time has flown by. Thank you for making this possible.
On March 1st, we opened our brand-new Weatherford store with a bang, and we continued that momentum by opening our Cleburne store on May 9th. The communities of both Parker and Wise County have been so welcoming, and we are grateful to be a part of these markets.
The summer of 2022 brought one of the worst droughts in history, and the effects of this are still being felt today. Supply has plummeted, and prices have skyrocketed. This will likely continue to get worse through the winter, but we will continue to work hard every day to keep our stores stocked.
November 28th was another special day for us when we opened the doors of our brand-new Benbrook location. Planning, tearing down, relocating, and rebuilding ended up being a 4+ year project, but looking at the beautiful facility we are now able to serve the Benbrook community with, it was all worth it. I never thought I’d see a mural on the side of a feed store, but through a partnership with the city, there is a huge mural on the north side of the building that depicts the history of the area. I hope you go by and see it; I’m so proud of it.
Of course, 2022 has had its challenges as well. Labor continues to be scarce, the supply chain (especially forage!) is in short supply, and the overall inflation in agriculture this year has been unprecedented. Even with the headwinds, I remain optimistic. 2022 was record-breaking for us, and I continue to believe we are the leaders in customer service in the markets we compete.
As most of you who shop with us know, we will do most anything to earn your business, and you can find most anything you need. However, there are a few things you will NOT find at a Russell Feed & Supply store:
- You will not have to park a block away.
- You will not be greeted rudely by an employee.
- You will not find 30 cash registers, only to have 2-3 open.
- You will not get lost in our store.
- You will not have to check yourself out.
- You will not have to have a “special store card” to keep from getting overcharged.
- You will not have to arrive at 5 am for sale prices.
- You will not have to load your own purchase.
- You will not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
- You will never find us open on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas.
