Teresa and I attended the annual Azle FFA Alumni “Beans and Cornbread” fundraiser in October. Tammy and Cassandra from the Azle store joined us in supporting this great event. Cassandra made an unbelievable cake for the cake auction, check out the photo! Here are few dates to mark on your November calendar:
- Opening day of Deer Season here in Texas is November 3rd. Russell Feed & Supply has a complete line of Triple C deer feeders, deer corn, and protein attractants to maximize your time in the field. Stop by and see us.
- Daylight Savings time ends November 4, 2012. Remember to “Fall Back”, otherwise you’ll be early to church on Sunday!
- Our 20th annual Cattle Seminar is November 15, 2012. This FREE seminar is loaded with useful information, will feature special pricing and door prizes, and includes a FREE sliced brisket dinner. If you have cattle, this event is a must. RSVP to 817-624-6224, or sign up on our website.
- All Russell Feed stores will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 22, 2012. We wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday.
On a personal note, I want to thank Statewide Distributing of Oklahoma and Diamond Pet Foods for inviting me elk hunting again this year. I had a great time and harvested a nice elk. I do love New Mexico.
Hay Report:
It looks like we will have plenty of inventory for November. The only shortage I see is with the 2 String Alfalfa from Lubbock, Texas. We may be out of this hay before years end. We have bought a load of New Mexico alfalfa to try but, it looks to be $4.00 more a bale, so we will probably just stick with the 3 String west coast Alfalfa when the Lubbock hay plays out. I think it’s a better value than the New Mexico hay at this time.
